And so it begins…
The preparations are over, the venues are decorated, stages swept, lines learned and performances perfected. Plymouth Fringe Festival 2019 begins today!
And what a day it will be…
Things begin at 4pm at the Royal William Yard with FERAL, a new gypsy-folk musical by masters of outdoor theatre, SISATA.
Anyone who caught their production of Frankenstein (pictured below) last year will know that this will certainly be one not to miss!
Then, we bring things indoors for the evening with our ever-popular Dance Triple Bill—featuring mesmerising performances from some of Devon’s most exciting dancers—at 6:30pm and Chloe Carruba’s anarchic One Woman Riot at 8pm, both at the Barbican Theatre.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled on the BBC throughout the day too because Plymouth Fringe Festival will be dominating the airwaves!
Matt joined Gordan Sparks for the Plymouth Breakfast Show this morning (catch it on iPlayer if you missed it!) and Tom and Emma Baskeyfield—winner of one of last year’s Toast of Plymouth Fringe Awards and whose intimate new show Go Figure joins us at Theatre Royal Plymouth on Thursday and Friday this year—will be on Spotlight at 6pm this evening.
We hope to see you around the festival today and during the rest of the week.
Be sure to let us know what you’re looking forward to seeing (and what you thought of what you’ve seen!) on Social Media using the hashtag #PlymFringe!
