“Ever since its sinking, the legend of the Titanic has had a grip over the nation. Songs, poems and billion-dollar films. It’s about time I cashed in.”
Chris is a poet. He works in a coffee shop.
He’s never exactly had what you might call ambition
One day he realises that the Titanic is still at the bottom of the sea, and sets out on a fervent quest to haul it up – to reclaim it from the hands of Canadian billionaires and give it back to the people who deserve it most.
He’s doing it for England, for Ireland and his Mum.
He’s doing it because he doesn’t have much else to do
But he’ll soon discover the sinister truth at the heart of the Atlantic – a truth that might just wreck everything
Combing comedy, poetry and story-telling, Sunked is a one-man spoken word show about salvage, salvation and Celine Dion
Chris White is a poet, theatre-maker and the current Bard of Exeter. He regularly performs around the South West with organizations such as RTB, Apples and Snakes and Milk, and has performed full-length shows at From Devon With Love, Cambridge Fusion and the Edinburgh Fringe.
“Think of the self-deprecation of David Mitchell and the open expressiveness of Russell Howard, and you’re halfway there.”
– Inter:mission, Bristol
“This gut wrenchingly emotional performance squeezes issues of homophobia, familial ties, obligation, and religion into only a short set.”
